The Opportunity

We have an opportunity in this moment to shape the future of American society such that it bestows upon all Americans equal dignity and respect. That process has already begun; After the murder of George Floyd, the people of the United States stood up and declared they will no longer tolerate rampant injustice, unfettered police brutality, and institutionalized racism. The next step to our victory is to become educated and vote as informed citizens.

The Skepticism

Many people do not vote because they think their vote does not count. I am not going to try to sell anyone the idea that our election system is not flawed, but I can assure you that your vote will never make a difference if you do not cast your ballot. An educated and mobilized voting base is the greatest fear of self-serving politicians. They make the laws we are expected to follow. It is our civic duty to ensure that the best possible candidates, those that understand that they are servants unto the citizens they represent, are voted into office and held accountable for their actions. We must place them in office and remove them when necessary.

The Truth

Unfortunately, voting on its own will not fix all of our problems. Complicit are those on both sides of the aisle that have created a broken system that has promulgated violent atrocities and white supremacy. Along with making our voices heard in Washington, we must change the common opinion of the average American if we are to become a society that values one another for our differences. Change begins in each and every one of us. When you see something wrong, say something. Nothing has ever been achieved by inaction. We have the power to affect our surroundings in many profound ways. Our actions and our character are catalyst for change, and our vote can and will make its mark on the history of the United States.

Please go to the Home Page, find your state, and get registered. I’ll see you at the polls.
